really - yes

I would like to see that added functionality as well and the addition of the emoticons would be helpful. I've seen a lot of quick e-mails that include text emoticons that don't convey the same emotions. I've also seen a lot of e-mails that have been taken the wrong way which could have been resolved by the addition of an emoticon.

The problem with e-mails is there is no emotion so the receiver reads into it what they want at the moment for good or bad. The addition of an emoticon could change that by encouraging the reader to better understand the frame of mind of the sender.
